A Fortification Marvel
of the Adriatic

The Kotor Walls represent one of the most significant fortification systems on the Adriatic. Stretching 4.5 km, they guard centuries of history and lead you up to Saint John's Fortress at an altitude of 280 metres.

Built between the 9th and 19th centuries, the walls are today a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Every stone bears the mark of Venetian, Ragusan, and Ottoman influences that shaped this extraordinary city.

The ascent counts 1,350 steps and rewards visitors with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor – the only fjord in the Mediterranean.
